8 Trips You Need to Take in Your Lifetime ~ Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

To a lot of vacationers, travel means lying on a beach soaking up the sun or visiting an amusement park and getting in touch with the kid in you. This year, we are requesting that you step off the beaten track and try a new form of travel. You might find that it is the best trip you’ve taken; so do yourself a favor and get creative with some of the types of trips you take. We’ve gone ahead and curated some of the better ideas for you to kick back, relax and get lost.

Solo Trip

A solo trip will help you step out of your comfort zone and realize your independence. There is nothing like traveling to another country on your own and experiencing the original flavors of the town and the people. Pick someplace safe, but make sure to enjoy the journey while you’re on it.

Ancestry Trip

Have you ever visited the place where your family is from? If not, now is the time to do it. Get in touch with relatives who may still live there and ask your parents or grandparents for recommendations of where to go. This may be just the opportunity you are looking for to find out more about yourself than you ever knew.

Last-minute flight trip

We’ve all seen it in the movies, couple goes to the airport without any idea of where to journey to and just picks a place and go. This is an exciting way to travel and we highly recommend it. If the price is right, why not?

Digital detox

It’s 2017 and we know you’re all addicted to your gadgets. It’s difficult to go anywhere without our cell phone which now does it all. If you are looking for a detox from communication and just want to relax and pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read try visiting an exotic island separated from all things digital. If the isolated island isn’t for you just travel down the road to a quiet small town. Whatever the pleasure, it can be exactly what the doctor ordered to step away from the television, computer and phone for a few days and just relax.

Volunteer trip

This is, in our humble opinion, the most rewarding form of travel. It has become increasingly popular to go on a trip to a third-world country and spend a few weeks giving back. It can range anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months, but if you want to feel inspired and know the feeling of helping people who can’t help themselves, then this trip is for you. We would recommend that this trip is taken at least once in your lifetime, it will be the most rewarding venture you will ever experience.

U.S road trip

This is a must for all our travelers out there who want to explore the country without jet-setting to California from the East Coast. There are so many states referred to as fly-over states that you will miss if you don’t gather up your friends, hop in the car and just drive. You can explore towns that most people don’t have the pleasure of venturing to. Try some of mama’s home cooking in Alabama, visit Nashville, New Orleans and more. Explore, venture out and visit the country you call home.

Wine tasting trip

There are so many areas of the world known for its exquisite wine and we don’t want to leave it out. Travel to the Cote D’Azur in the French Riviera for some prime wine or the south of Spain, there are wine tours everywhere and you will be able to sip on some of the finest grapes in the old countries where time seems to have stood still.

Staycation

This is for all those who don’t want to trek too far from home. Visit your hometown and explore the areas you normally wouldn’t go to see and realize all that your town has to offer. Even if it’s visiting the public park or going to a flea market that the whole town has shown up for, reconnect with the place you live in.
